Infectious Enthusiasm from Young Leader
Back

Mitch Joel, of Montreal-based TwistImage Multimedia Marketing and a new co-chair of the Jewish Chamber of Commerce in Montreal, gave a riveting presentation - How Viral Marketing can help bring Wealth to You and our Community - to close to 30 invitees Federation's Young Leadership Division, Combined Jewish Appeal, on April 14, 2005.

Mitch, a YLD leader in his own community, spoke about marketing in terms of understanding how to create an experience. He shared some edgy video clips that communicated a contemporary and practical approach to making a dramatic difference in one's business, personal and community life.

In his very dynamic presentation, Mitch taught about key points of today's marketing, including the branding concept that reinforces the idea of selling an experience, more than a product. These concepts can be applied to the Combined Jewish Appeal campaign because beyond any donation, there's the supreme experience of making the world a better place.

Mitch stressed the fact that there are three main aspects in everyone's life (Personal, Business and Community) and all these areas are interconnected.  Every one of these aspects influences the other, he said, and in a natural process, the better that a community member is doing in his or her business, the more resources can be available to give back for tzedakah. To sum it up, Mitch's presentation was a great blend of technology and values, showing how to get more of ourselves.

Opening the event was new YLD chair Natalie Rosengarten, who spoke to the need to make a meaningful contribution to community even though we are all busy with our lives. (Our message is a simple one - Live Generously, it does a world of good.)

UIA Federations Canada's Young Leadership Department presented awards of distinction to Natalie, Michele Zychlinski, Keren Kluk and Kerri Chetner.
