The Jewish Chamber of Commerce (JCC) is an initiative of ProMontreal, a division of FEDERATION CJA. Our mission is to ensure a strong and vibrant future for Montreal's Jewish community by attracting and involving young adults in our activities, promoting Jewish values, developing community leaders and creating and encouraging social, business and career opportunities.
ProMontreal is positively affecting young people and their choice to build a future in Montreal. We are connecting and involving young adults and providing social, business and career opportunities. We are building knowledge, affiliation and commitment to our Jewish roots and instilling the tradition of Tzedakah. We are empowering our leaders of tomorrow. We are changing attitudes.
The JCC was created 10 years ago as part of FEDERATION CJA, targeting the 25 to 40 age group as an initiative of ProMontreal.
The Chamber provides programming as well as the opportunity for business people to network and exchange ideas, which serves to increase awareness and involvement in the Jewish community. The Chamber helps to cultivate young adults who are active, not only to shape and lead the Jewish Community, but also to play an increasingly larger role in the development of Montreal’s business community. It hosts a variety of networking opportunities, including cocktail receptions, lunches and power breakfasts. Members of the Chamber are our future leaders in a dynamic and growing business community. Their involvement with us often translates into leadership roles within the Jewish Community. Membership does have its privileges!
Other initiatives of ProMontreal include: - YAD is also concerned with young Jews between the ages of 25 and 40. It is all about connecting people through innovative and exciting social, educational, cultural, recreational and leadership development programming.
- Young Leadership Campaign is aimed at the JCC and YAD age group, and succeeded in raising $1.6 million for the annual Combined Jewish Appeal.
- Fednext, aimed at the 18 to 25 age group, has programming similar to YAD. Campus Campaign is the Fundraising arm of Fednext.
